My favorite artwork this year was the first mountain picture I painted. I like it so much because it actually turned out and looks real compared to my other ones. It took me a long time to paint it. Also it has a good meaning behind it. I seen these mountains like the same exact picture is in my head. It was a super fun and cool family trip. The artwork I would like to redo is the van painting. I realized it was a little bit sideways after I was done. I would make the road look even more real and add some clouds to it. I would keep everything else the same just add more details to it. I have learned to do you best on everything don't give up. A few times I just wanted to give up and be done with it all. That is the wrong mindset and this art class has taught me to change it. Now in all my other classes I do not stop doing my homework until it is done. The one thing I wish I could have did in art was more of a collage. If we were in school I would have printed pictures and made a big board with them all. If we had more time to do the collage part I would've done it. Other than that I did everything I wanted to in the class. Thank you for the great semester!!

I have three artworks. One is a red van. The van is driving on a road. There is a blue sky behind it. The road is like a gray and black together. The second artwork is the mountains. I started out by drawing the mountains, then the river, than the road. After I had painted the sky and all I started on the trees. That was the hardest part. The trees are three or four different greens. The sky is a blue with darker blue and white in it. The road that goes back to the mountains is black with yellow stripes. The river is more of a dark blue. The sun is yellow with black lines coming out from it. With the ocean the big wave is a bunch of blues, the background is a pastel faded yellow, and the sun is like an orange. I created it by getting three canvases. I used my paint on everything. I mixed many different colors to get the right colors. I drew out all my landscapes first. Once I had them drawn how I wanted them I then started to paint. I painted most of the skies first and than worked my way through them, object by object. With the ocean one I went from the wave, the sky, and than the sun. With the car I went the sky, the road, and then the car. With the mountains it went mountains, sky, river, road, and then the trees. The big idea behind my artwork is I have a van, mountains and the ocean. I am going to take the van and travel to the places. Traveling revolves around my whole future. I have wanted to travel a lot in my future. In the past I have been in many different places and states. Traveling means a lot to me. For my future job I rather want to be a realtor or a flight attendant. So I put all three places together and made an artwork. Traveling also runs in the family our big family normally takes a trip every year. After about two years ago it slowed down. My goals for these artworks were so the have a theme. I think they have a theme. I wanted the ocean to be like more fake than real but for the wave to look cool and pop out. I was going to do the background a different color but I went all out and did what my heart desired. I didn't know what color I wanted to do the van. I asked my mom and she told me to do a bright red so it sticks out. I like getting advice on my artworks. Everytime I get advice they always turn out better. My overall thoughts on everything are pretty good. I messed up the mountains they didn't turn out as I had planned. The van I thought turned out super cool, it looks better in person. My favorite one is definitely the ocean. I love how bright and how much everything sticks out. I wish I could've done the whole process. I like being at home I seem to get it done and can go my own pace without getting rushed and bothered by other kids. I really like the distance learning, I have all the paint and supplies so it made this art class easy to cope with.
I envision myself using three or four different canvases. I want to do mountains, the ocean, the lake, and then the last one will be my future career or a sunset. All the things I love. Once I get them I will start sketching right away. I'm expressing what I want my future to look like. I want to travel my whole life and see new places.
One studio habit I used was stretch and explore. Around home we don't have very many things that are scratch and that I can cut up. So instead I decided I should used color pencil and find different textures around the house. I did that because I had to find a way to make this artwork. The second studio habit I used was observe. I had observe all the different textures to get what I wanted. I ended up using a whole bunch of different wall for the texture. For the sky I used three different blues and added a few trees. Next I am going to add the snowflakes. Here is some Christmas cookies I made for the days that I wasn't in school!
My artwork is a picture of mountains and a water way. There is some trees that have many different colors. All trees aren't the same and have different colors for the certain depths. The mountains are light grey. The trees that go into the mountains are like a darker green like olive. The ones that are the closest to me are made to look like bushes. I tried to make the water look realistic. The sky I had to do lighter than the water so you can tell a difference. I created my artwork by looking at a picture. I had found the exact place where I went and looked at that. I started out with the mountains. I sketched it all out the mountains than the different tree lines and then the water way. I first painted the mountains and added like lighter and darker to show depth. Than I had to get many different greens to show the depth in the trees. When it came to brushes I had like used the different techniques to get the textures on point. So it went the mountains, trees, water, and then the sky. Ya they did tell us to do the sky first but I am different and do everything differently. The big idea was that I had to paint some sort of mountains and with water and trees. That is exactly what I did. I had traveled here many times. It is supposed to be the Teton Mountains. I love going out West and seeing the mountains and meeting new people. I love to travel and this was a way of expressing it. I grew up traveling a lot I've been here many times. Since my parents are divorced sometimes I would go two times in one summer. My goals were to make the mountains better than in the past. It worked I tried super hard and tried to make it look real. My overall thoughts were I wowed myself. I have never painted something that looks actually some normal. My dad likes it so much he even put it in his room.
I used envision and inspiration. When I was doing my artwork I was trying to see what I could do next to make it look real as it could be. My dad put in his info and what I should do and how I should do it. He likes it so much he even put it in his room. For inspiration for vacations I go out to the mountains. I went there many times and they were the best memories. I got inspired by all the trips I've taken and the mountains I have seen.
Painting Boot CampFor my studio habits I'm going to use express and reflect. In the fall tree one I am trying to express that I like fall. Although nothing turned out as well as I wanted it too. I like the color of the leaves when it comes to fall. I live on Sullivan Lake and when it comes to fall it looks super cool. I like how how the leaves did turn out and how they kind of faded with the different colors. I don't like the tree and how that looks. I like with the color wheel how the colors turned out. They are the colors I wanted them to turn out to be. Landscape ArtworkMy plan for the next artwork is to paint mountains and maybe some fall colors on the trees. It is the Teton Mountains. I went there on a family trip. It was one of the most memorbale trips I have ever been on. So I plan on painting the Tetons with water reflection and the trees will be fall colors except the pien trees.
Dan Bruggeman's art is where he travels different places like the ski hill and Valley fair. He takes a deeper look at them and draws them with a sunset or some sort of cool sky in the background. With the ski hill he was doing every little detail. It caught his attention when they make the fake snow for the skiers. My artwork shows man-made and natural worlds colliding because it is the Duluth bridge. It was man-made and now people use to to travel across the body of water to get places easier and faster. It's really cool to drive across and at night its all lit up. I think it has enhanced because say if you need to get across and that's where you work than you don't have to take a ferry. A ferry would take way longer than just driving across the bridge. It is also in the summer time filled with tourists seeing Duluth. Enhanced the workforce for faster travel.
Thinking drawing is his sketches that he does before his final artwork. Thiebaud uses his thinking drawings to create his final artwork by sketching put many different ideas trying shapes and the depth of the image. He also uses all white backgrounds to really show the image. Thiebaud's preparatory sketches relate to his final drawings because when he does those sketches he draws the lines bolder and than tries out different colors to see what looks best. The one on the right he didn't put a big colorful background to the tie he just put white and a few colors. So it doesn't pop out as much he didn't bold the colors as much. I think he separates it because than your eyes just aren't looking at the big group of ties, your eyes will look at the lonely tie too. Than you will observe the artwork more.
My artwork looks like a houseplant. The pot is like a burgundy brown and plant leaves are green with a little bit purple blended into them. The background has many different colors in it like pinks, blue, yellow, and orange. It is sitting on a table that is black and there is a little bit shadow for the pot. The soil is black by the plant. The title of my object is the house plant. The elements that are most obvious is the black soil and the green/purple leaves. I made my artwork by starting off with how I wanted to draw the leaves. I drew a 3D looking pot for my plant than went from there. I used colored pencil for my artwork. I tried my best to make it look somewhat like the plant. I really like plants and at home we have many many many plants. My mom has always loved them so growing up I've learned to love them too. They make our house complete. I'm trying to express how I feel about them and how much more comfortable it is when your house is decorated cutely. My goals for this artwork was to have ir turn out and so people actually know what they're looking at. I think it turned out I could've tried and made the leaves look 3D otherwise I like how the leaves turned out because they look like what the plant did. I learned that coloring with colored pencils isn't as easy as people make it look. It isn't what I imagined although better than anything else I could draw. It will influences my life because there going to be in my future house and many rooms.
