My artwork is original because I drew half of my face and then the other half is what i like and what i very much enjoy. I wasn't really inspired by anyone Megan told me her idea and I'm like wow that would be so cool. So i started and trying to get it done took me many tries to get everything the way I wanted it. It connects because I have traveled out west where the indians were and I absolutely love to travel and site see Native American types of things. I also like to express how I feel and what my interests are. It was really cool being out west seeing all the different nature there is in the world. It's also original because I drew it. It expresses me because the African Americans expressed their culture in many ways. Like drawing certain things on mountains and certain rugs they knew how to make. Artist Statement My artwork is half of my face and the other half is what I enjoy doing. I enjoy jet skiing, tubing, fishing, hunting, four wheeling, snowmobiling, and many more things. One of my favorite thing about my life is the cabin my mom bought two years ago on Thunder Lake. My grandma also has one on Sullivan Lake which is absolutely gorgeous. I love it. I love the country and where I live and how lucky I am to get to expericane the things I got to in my life. I also forgot to put traveling on there. I love to travel I've traveled many places in my life including most of the West states and Florida and New York. So I put most things I love in little bubbles and colored them in. I attempted to draw a fish. As you can tell I ain't the best at drawing anything. I have brownish hair and hazel colored eyes. I am also in the sport tennis. I play varsity number three for a couple years now. Absoultly love it my mom was a good tennis player and my dad brought me all the country living things and taught me all that. I made my artwork by firstly drawing out a head and starting to draw the eyes mouth and hair. I had to find the right hair color that took awhile after many colors I finally found one that looked similar but not the same as my hair. Also I didn't know drawing noses was going to be as hard it is. My big idea is to explain and express what I really enjoy doing and how I like spending my summers and the weekends when I am not busy. The half and half kind of inspired me by showing what you partially look like and what you like to do and what you enjoy. My goals in this artwork was to get it done on time but that didn't work so well for me. I've been super busy lately and haven't had time. I'm sorry. My other goal was to have it turn out and look half way normal. The overall thought of my artwork isn't bad. Although I wish I would've gotten it done on time. I like the way the things I enjoy turned out.

I picked this artwork because I used to kayak or canoe down a river and every time I would see the pretty water lilies I would always want to pick one of the flowers but it's illegal. I have seen pictures of it awhile ago. Yes I have seen the artist before and I like being at the lake or seeing them in the water even though they take everything over. I think the artwork is just about the nature in the world. I think he created it because in his life he liked to see all the nature and the lily pads with cool flowers on them. Yes, I think this artwork is very successful because it turned out super cool and looks real and I'm sure it has a good meaning behind it. He used craftsmanship because its a very unique artwork I read he painted the water lilies before he painted this. He also used design because you can tell what he has painted very clearly and you can visually see what he's try to convey.
I did the nature photo collage. I chose it because it sounded fun and I like taking pictures. I took my pictures in the woods by our house up by Sullivan Lake. I took them there because I thought there would be some cool spots and pictures I could take there. I used photo collage.
I plan on doing a flower with no paint brush and using my fingers. I didn't put the pictures of the flowers I've been practicing painting on here. I am testing out colors and different types of flowers. I am doing physical limitations because I am doing it without a paint brush. My other options were painting mountains with a sunset with my fingers. It's going good just sketching didn't start the official one yet. Next I am going to draw out the flower.
Standards EvidenceBefore I started my architecture project I had to think of ideas. I got inspired by when I went to Florida this year I went out to eat at a tiki hut. The tiki hut we went to is where I got my idea from, it was on a beach it was super cool. Then once I wanted more ideas I looked up tiki huts online and found the picture below. For our materials we used raffia for the top of the hut for "grass", we used popsicle sticks for the hut, mosaic tiles for the ocean and blue paint, sand for the sand on the beach, rocks to add texture, and then seashells for it to look cool. For trying new things we put modge podge over the sand and some rocks to make it look shiny. We tested the grass stuff on the hut to see if we liked it and we did. Artist Statement
For architecture Megan and I will be building a cabin out of popsicle sticks, fish bowl jem things for the water, some rocks for the shore, and then paint for the siding. We are painting the cabin grey. Then in the water we will be making a tube.
Finishing up media fair I made a starfish. The starfish I made that was called plushies I grabbed some fabric, stuffed it, and sewed it up. I liked the sewing part of it. It was fun to make. |
